Gemma Teal is a people centred designer and researcher. Since graduating with a masters in
product design engineering she has applied design thinking to interesting challenges in commercial consultancy and more recently in academic research.
Her current research is set in an acute healthcare environment and considers how the design
of the physical environment, the introduction of new technologies and the design of the service
can reduce malnutrition for older hospital patients. The output of this research will be a new food service concept which has been collaboratively designed and developed with healthcare staff, representative patients and stakeholders.
